Specialized Tarmac, a Year in Review

It’s no secret we’re a fan of Specialized at TMB; so we’ll save you the flattering stories of how our bikes have helped us find new heights, sought and explored new roads, or how we all felt our needs individually cared for with their rider first engineering. What follows is a quick, honest review of the 2018 Tarmac, and why you should jump on the chance to own one for yourself.

No doubt by now you’ve read countless reviews and forums of how the bike does xyz since its release last year. Instead of regurgitating all the versatile terrains and uses that the Tarmac excels under, I’ll just give you a list of (a few) of the wins the TMB Equator team was able to achieve on their Tarmac Pro Di2.

  • Fish Rock Gravel Race

  • Copperopolis Road Race

  • Auburn Crit

  • Winchester Circuit Race

  • Haute Route SF Overall

  • Wente Road Race

  • Best Amature Jersey, Oak Glen Stage, Redlands Classic

  • Davis 4th of July Crit/NCNCA State Criterium Championship

  • Nevada City Classic

  • Berkeley Hills Road Race

  • Giro de San Francisco Crit

The list goes on, but for the sake of brevity, I think you get the idea.

From mixed terrain races with dirt and gravel, to fast technical crits, bombed out 100 mile road races, Pro Road Tour Stages, boujie race-fondos and everything in between, the Tarmac crushes them all. Nicknamed the “unicorn bike”, the Tarmac shows that you can have one bike that will excel in nearly any faucet of road cycling, your perfect aero-climbing-sprinting-breakaway machine.

If you’re only in the market for one bike but still want to contend to win whatever race you choose, you should get the Tarmac. The simplicity of the Ultegra Di2 groupset and Roval CL-50 wheels make this one of the most professional and versatile bikes you own, at an entry-level budget.  All bikes have been professionally maintained, and 100% of the proceeds from these sales will go towards supporting the team for 2019. We still have a few left, so jump on them while you can!
