I went into it with plans to sit in, and wait for the sprint. I very quickly realized that there was going to be a breakaway with an Amian rider in it. So I made sure I was in every move that an Amian rider was in. About 20 minutes in there was a group of two up the road with one Amain guy, and a chase group with an Amain and a muscle milk guy. Seeing that dangerous move, I bridged across the gap with one other guy effortlessly, and joined the chase group. The two breakaway groups came together and we started working together very well. The gap slowly increased to about a minute, and was at a minute twenty at five go, and everyone continued to work together until 2 to go. Then I was making sure to mark Corey Duren, basically following his every move. At one to go I was expecting them to do an attack/counter attack and/or a lead out, they didn’t really show their cards. Coming around the second to last corner, coming from the back of the group I attacked really hard in the gutter (so no one could get the draft off me). Then I just basically went 100% all out, Corey passed me right before the last corner, I sprinted as hard as I could trying to hold onto second but got nipped at the line. Overall it was a good race, I felt like my legs were good and my head was in the right place and my teammates did a great job assisting.
