Cherry Pie has been one of the most iconic season starters in NorCal for a long time. However, this year there was a notable change to the race: riders only ride up a third of the hill. It was definitely a huge change to my personal tactics coming into the race, as I had to position early to make it up the hill in the right spot. My riding that week had been great and I had a good warm up that morning. I was ready to roll with 34 other riders, including teammate Jimmy Pham.

With Mark Rotondi, Travis Keeney and Aria Kiani racing in the Pine Flat Road Race, Travis' objective was to stay active and chase down breakaways, keeping the pace high leading into the primary climb where Mark needed to to push hard up the initial climb shaking out opponents to help lead Aria to the finish...

With Aria, Travis, and Mark lining up to race the elite 4 field at the 2015 edition of the Cantua Creek road race, the plan was to sit in and smash the final mile of climbing to gain Mark and Aria maximum upgrade points. However, after the first 5 miles of racing, it quickly became apparent that the plan would need to be modified…
Folsom Winter Crit and Copper Town Circuit Race (E3)

I was really amped up about this weekend because it was the first two races of the year for me. Two of my favorite races as well, Folsom Crit and Copper Town Circuit race. I had gotten a lot stronger since the end of last year, thanks to my coach Adam Switters (Mike's Bikes Elite Team). I definitely felt that I was stronger by just sitting in the pack, I also was pretty aggressive on Sunday which gave me confidence in my form. Lastly, I was really excited to be racing on my new S-Works Venge which was super sick this weekend and in my sweet Capo Skinsuit! Anyways, let’s get into the report.

With Aria, Travis, Roni, Mark, and Philly lining up to race the elite cat 4 field at the 2015 edition of the Knight's Ferry road race, the plan was to be active in the breaks, but save Mark and Travis for an epic charge at the end. Spoiler: this played out (almost) perfectly...

The Mike's Bikes Development 2015 race team kicked off with a bang this season! At Patterson Pass in January the Early Bird Road Race the DEV boys cranked out 2 first place spots in Cat 3, and Cat 4. Jimmy Pham held it out till the bitter end for the sprint on the long way down the mountain in the Cat 3's, and Aria Kiana climbed his way into the lead in the 4's. 2015 here we come!
